I am a contributing author to this compilation series of short stories. Hurricane Bob is a heartwarming, true story of how God can restore and redeem.
At seventeen Jeanne was trafficked into the adult entertainment industry as an exotic dancer. She spent over two decades in the dark world of sex, drugs and alcohol. All attempts to find her way out failed. Then God showed up, and the battle began.
Escaping the clutches of her volatile mother, fourteen-year-old Jeanne buys a bus ticket and runs away from home. She meets a young man, becomes pregnant, and marries. After suffering repeated physical abuse at the hands of her new husband, Jeanne is determined to save the unborn child and herself. She travels back to her home in New England.
Soon after giving birth, Jeanne is recruited into the adult entertainment industry as an exotic dancer. At seventeen, she is catapulted to stardom in the dark world of sex, drugs, and alcohol. After two decades, God snatches her out of the devil’s playground, setting her on a path of redemption, recovery, and faith. She battles spiritual warfare, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, hurricanes, cancer, and failed relationships. She is stripped of everything during her Christian walk - only to have God restore it all and more.
Where art thou Oh Lord, My spirit thirsts for you, but the well is dry. I danced to the tune the enemy set forth until the day you called me out. You set my feet on a righteous path where I will walk all the rest of my days. I will sing your praise, Oh Lord, and hope those who dance in darkness will long for rescue too.
May they hear your voice, O Lord, and know for certain that it's you.
My passion for sharing how I found my way out of the adult entertainment industry and sustained my faith against extraordinary odds is the driving force behind my message. May you find courage, strength, hope, and faith, through my journey.
